America's Junior Miss 2008
She’s not just a pretty face. In fact, 18 year old Lindsey Brinton is much more…she’s America’s Junior Miss 2008 and a biochemical engineering student at Harvard with an impressive list of talents and accomplishments. Lindsey plans to pursue a career in drug research in which she hopes to help develop drugs to reverse the side effects of cancer, diabetes and other diseases.
Lindsey is an award-winning pianist who has performed on five of seven continents and at New York’s Carnegie Hall. She’s a humanitarian who has traveled to the top of the Andes Mountains to build a school and has assisted her father in diabetic eye screenings on Indian reservations. Now Lindsey can now add America’s Junior Miss 2008 to her resume.
The Utah teen was selected as America’s Junior Miss 2008 on June 28, in Mobile, Alabama, earning more than $62,000 and the official AJM gold medallion. Lindsey has also danced with The Joffrey Ballet and The Juilliard Summer Dance Program, was selected as a feature dancer in Disney’s High School Musical 3, and has performed as a guest soloist on the Young Concert Artists Series in Naples, Italy. She served as Student Body President of her inner city high school, was on the Varsity Basketball and Tennis teams, and was named a William Randolph Hearst U.S. Senate Scholar. Lindsey will perform in a Gala Benefit Concert in Asuncion, Paraguay, at the invitation of the Prime Minister and First Lady.
Lindsey began her year as America’s Junior Miss 2008 with national media appearances and sponsor visits in New York City. Throughout the year she will make appearances to promote AJM’s Be Your Best Self program, a national outreach to encourage self esteem in all young people. Lindsey will share the program with young people across America through a presentation that she created using classical piano compositions. Lindsey’s presentation introduces young people to music and teaches them to capitalize on their own talents to be their best selves, just as she has done in her own life.
